About Us
Dr. Allison S. Neese, DVM
Dr. Allison Neese was born in Salem, Massachusetts and moved to Cape Cod when she was just two years old. She attended the Harwich Public School System, graduating from Harwich High School in 1985. She obtained her Bachelor's degree from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts in 1989.
Veterinary education and training was undertaken in Athens, Georgia at the Univeristy of Georgia (one of the top Veterinary institutions in the nation) and Dr. Neese received her DVM in 1994.
Dr. Neese entered small animal practice in Gainesville, GA immediately after graduation, where she stayed for seven years. With an initial interest in aquatic veterinary medicine, the strong emotional bond between pet owners and their small furry friends eventually captured her heart and devotion.
Dr. Neese moved closer to home to attend a residency/PhD program in Anatomic Pathology at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT. Dr. Neese completed her residency, but returned to her first love of private small animal practice at East of the River Emergency Hospital in Bolton, CT, as an emergency clinician and surgeon.
With the opening of Cape Animal Referral and Emergency (CARE) in South Dennis, Dr. Neese was able to return to the Cape. With hopes of eventually becoming a practice owner, Dr. Neese took a position at Hyannis Animal Hospital, but being a resident of Dennis, business ownership seemed more sensible in her own hometown.Dr. Neese has family residing in Harwich, Brewster and Eastham. She is very pleased to be at Dennis Veterinary Hospital. She is very fond of cats, boasting ten feline friends at home, but she also loves her dogs too - Simon and Dillon (Shetland Sheepdogs).
